Does anyone know where I can find a basketweave tsuba? I'm trying to find a tsuba that will match the kyo ajiro (basketweave) Fuchi/kashira here.

I bought an antique ajiro tsuba a few years back from Aoi Japan... not inexpensive, but not cheap either. I think they currently have at least one ajiro tsuba for sale www.aoijapan.com/fittings/tsubaBTW, the pic below is my tsuba, which is not for sale... will be mounting it on one of my nihontos when time permits.

Thanks. I did look there though and didn't see any basketweave tsuba, maybe I'll send them an email and ask if they have more not listed. Do you know anybody who might be able to make me one? I was looking into shapeways.com to see if they could make me one like the bamboo mat tsuba. I really can't spend thousands of dollars on a custom hand engraved tsuba.

@madmonkeyrende might be able to make a custom one for you. You can also try Fred Lohman or Roman Urban, but they can be pricey. Best bet is probably finding a used Bamboo Mat tsuba like you mentioned before.
*Edit: I’m not sure if Mad Monkey Rende is a member of this forum anymore, but he’s on Facebook.

Best way to search for him on FB is to condense both words into one: madmonkey
