VA for me no question, they are some of the higher quality scabbards and belts you can get and the swords are good quality as well, tho the ones with blades from china are getting fazed out until sonny finds another forge to make the blades so its currently lower albion lvls of prices atm, i've heard lutel is pretty good too but VA just seems better for me

IMO, the Valiant scabbard is the winner by a longshot. I've never been disappointed with a VA scabbard, even on the less adorned ones (like the plain one that came with my falchion). All of the Lutel scabbards, I've seen, where leather only. They did not have a wood core.
Just the opposite on the sword opinion. I really like the Lutel swords. Nothing wrong with the VA offerings, but the Lutel swords where very appealing. They do have a "non-historical" ricasso, but apparently you can order the sword without the elongated ricasso.
However, I would rather have a new VA hand and a half with the accompanying scabbard. As a whole, the VA offerings are very nice. You really get the "whole package".
A Lutel sword with a VA custom scabbard would be awesome.

Have owned a few of both and like the Lutel blades much better. Of course the VA swords have a wood core scabbard you can customize.

I own neither but I think Valiant is the better package deal. The quality in their scabbard & belt work is hard to replicate. The blades I have been told are good, not great, but good. Lutel's blade may or may not be better but their scabbards are definitely inferior to Valiant Armory's. The thing that Lutel will beat Valiant Armory at right now is the price. If you order from their craftsman sword line (the latest edition models) a full package deal from Valiant Armory will run you $1250 just for standard fittings and finish. More if you customize it. Lutel costs half that much on their standard models. So if price is an issue go Lutel. If price isn't a major issue than Valiant Armory.

I've not owned swords from either maker, but I've handled a few VA swords. I agree that the scabbards from VA appear to be superior; however I think Lutel offers a wider variety of different types of swords. I've heard that Lutels swords are well made and of good quality, and the VA's I've handled were also as such. For me, it would come down to Lutel, simply because VA doesn't offer one of these... No thanks. I do not like the hilt fittings at all on that. I'd want the guard to have a nagel or at very least, a ring. I'd also prefer a traditional messer style grip.

I like the Lutel better but the VA scabbard package gives you more bang for your buck. Really neither is bad and you wouldn't be wasting your money on either.
