Greetings!
I was just wondering if anyone here has heard from Michael Sabatier recently? I've had a sword on order from him for quite some time and it's been a while since I've heard from him. If anyone here could let me know I'd appreciate it. Feel free to send me a PM if you'd rather not post. Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Win

He has a 100% cancelation fee most people should be aware of.

Sorry for the delayed reply. Yes, I was able to get in touch with Michael Sabatier. He completed my sword commission last year and I was very pleased with the end result. Thanks.

Would be great if you could share some info on the sword. Not much feedback from Sabatier owners out there. Very nice looking swords.
Is the sword for collection and/or training? Do you cut with it?

It is a mono-steel blade. It was made for martial arts use. I do intend to cut with it, but I haven't had a chance to mount the blade yet. It took quite a bit of time, but Michael's level of craftsmanship is very high. Here's a link to a pic of the blade from his Instagram page:

I hope to be able to have the sword mounted later this year. There are other pictures of it on Michael's Instagram page as well. Thanks!

That sure is a pretty one! If you don't mind me asking, how long did it take from request to delivery and how much did it cost?

I had to cancel a comission from him due to a car accident. I was not pleased with a 100% cancelation fee. I mean he didnt even started my order... Quite a loss of money on my part.

Maybe you could tell him again, and make him to do your sword and tell him that you pay the rest after 1 or 2 year.

Having a non-refundable deposit policy is one thing. However, taking a customer's money and not delivering a blade as promised is theft. I was lucky enough to receive my blade from Sabatier, but a friend of mine was not. It's been nearly three years now, and Michael Sabatier has failed to make good on his obligation as a craftsman. He has also been unreachable via email. This is completely unacceptable in my book. I would highly discourage anyone from doing business with this smith.
