Not to get too far off topic, but does anybody make a good production Spanish cup-hilt style side sword? I'm trying to find something similar to this:

The blades on all of those are far narrower than I am looking for.

Is the leather glued then? I think so. I don't see any change in thickness right up to the seam. It seems pretty tight.

I wonder why there is no scabbard included for the blunt side sword, SM22790? There are scabbards for the other Kingston blunts. Maybe that rolled tip will hang up in a scabbard?

Hi there,
sorry for reviving the thread but I have a question on the specs of the Hanwei Side Sword.
Could someone tell how long the grip is between the crossguard and the pommel?
Some shops list the distance as 5,5 inch / 14 cm.
Is that correct?

On mine, the leather wrapped portion of the grip is 3 and 11/16 inches (9.37 cm) from the crossguard to the metal collar at the base on the pommel. If I include the leather rapped portion of the ricasso and the metal collar or the pommel, it's pretty close the 5.5 inches.

That's pretty close to the grip of my Windlass Munich Town Guard sword which stands at 3.5 inches (8.5 cm) - meaning: the Hanwei grip will fit my hand.
Many thanks for the fast reply.
