Hello.
I just recently moved from snowy Canada to not quite so snowy North Carolina, and was looking to get the lay of the land - what fellow sword collectors are out here in the tarheel state? Any preferred hunting/selling grounds around?

I spent much time in NC and my X and a daughter are still there. At the time I was interested in firearms and bayonets, all of which I have sold during my moves, and gave no thought to swords. I do remember those damn developers took away lands that I used to hunt and the fields that I flew my airplanes. It was becoming too “civilized” for me, or maybe crowed is a better word. Sorry, what you are looking for and that I knew are long gone.

Well, I found a job here, so seems like there is something still here for me.
I am living in one of those large developments hewn from the pine forests. Its part of a large research park though full of hope and potential, so perhaps there is some good to this.

I shouldn’t be too surprised as the population in the US has doubled since I was born in the ‘30s. And lands open to hunting or whatever are much fewer. And in general things are more crowded. Sound like you settled in the RDU area possibly in the Research Triangle area. Good luck in your new adventure.

Is a shame since the developments around here seem to be very low intensity. There are ways to house millions of people in a small area while keeping the forests intact - yet none of the buildings here are higher than 3-4 floors. The forests are still pretty grand compared to what I am used to
