Has anyone ever done a video review of a sword? The thought flickered through my mind and I thought it might be cool to maybe do a review and maybe talk about some of the basics of cutting as I understand them.

If memory serves, one guy (whose name I forget ) actually did a video review of two swords; one was Musashi's odachi. They were both quite good, and I would like to see more like them. I say go for it. I've always wanted to see you actually demonstrate all the things you keep talking about; I'm much more visual than most people. You can tell me whatever you want but until I see it I won't get it at all.

Random: Is there anything in particular that I have talked about that you want me to demonstrate? Or if there is anyone else out there who has read my comments and haven't understood something and want it visually explained please let me know and I will compile a vid on it.

For the time being I'l submit "Everything." Meantime, I'll try to read back through some of your posts on the subject(s?) for a better idea.

BW I would like to see you do a video where you go through what you expect out of this sword and why. then see if the sword meet your expectations or not. Use the same catagories as the written template. that would be very cool ;D!

Mate, I have 2441 posts worth of stuff, everything is a little unspecific.
Steve: Oooh! I like that idea, I will have a think about it and see what I come up with, at the moment I have 1000 phone books to deliver.

If you're gonna make a video, might as well go all out right? Pretend you are teaching a student how to safely handle a katana during cutting practice. Demonstrate in depth the basic cuts and stances... Lots of stuff that beginners would find helpful.

There was one guy did a mini review on video of the DSA Oslo Viking. I think it was mysticdx.

As well, perhaps, as adding anything else that may come to mind while doing so? I'll second that Steve had a good idea and you should do that. Oh, and it was mysticdx (what happened to him, anyway? ) who did a video review for the Musashi odachi, as well.

You can save some time and "kill two birds with one stone" by chopping up the phone books for the test cutting review! (people still use those things?)

Only 14mb now mate, thanks for the review! The hamon looks great! (are they meant to be more shiny than the rest of the blade?)

Vy: Thanks mate, it was weird. I've never used video editing or cam corders or any of that so it was a little bit bad.
The hamon is a strange animal, it is a different colour to the rest of the blade and looks very surreal, I really love it. I love everything about this katana. Sorry my form was rusty with the demostration, it's been a long time since I had a live katana in my hands. I am thinking of doing a better demonstration video if there is call for it. Heck I might even demonstrate on camera some of the martial arts system I teach my students.

Nice video, BW. You're far taller and skinnier than I had you and your accent isn't nearly as thick as I'd hoped. Nevertheless, good stuff. Now get some mats or what-have-you and cut.

Nice vid, BW. +1 for that (I may be wrong, but didn't you had that "don't karma me" thing in your sig?). Make more of those instructional vids and we'll start the first forum dojo here on SBG
