Hello all,
I recently acquired an M1811 Blucher in fair condition, however it needs a new grip.
I am looking for advice on how to disassemble it as it is peened and pinned through then grip.
Can the pin be removed with a punch? Should I use a file or dremel to remove the peen?
Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks!

I would use a file to remove the peen. I have had success in the past with jewellers and steel files. The pin through the grip is also a sort of peen if I remember correctly, or a rivet so you made need to file down that as Well, or remove the broken grip around it and then saw it in half with a cutting wheel on the dremel.

Before you begin doing serious work I would like to see a picture. Maybe there is a way out of this without disassembling the sabre.
Cheers.
