Green isn't even the realy traditional color of Ireland, that'd be blue. I am so glad you pointed this out

Key word, WAS blue. From the late 18th to the 20th century, as the divide between the Irish population and the British crown deepened, the color green and St. Patrick’s shamrock became a symbol of identity and rebellion for the Irish. The Irish flag, no blue. Well just the sky.

Does anyone know if the new blades will be marked like Albion and other upper end makers do. For example they moved the Irish Ring Sword to the Craftsman series so we'll have to be careful someone doesn't try to pass the older model at $600 w/ scabbard off for the new $845 sword only one. I'm sure there will be a noticeable difference in the finish if you're looking at both together but maybe not so much when separate. Should have got one of the Ring Swords before they bumped it up.

This is a really good question. I'm putting in an order soon - I'll ask Sonny about it. I did hear he was having problems with his forge supplier for the Chinese-made blades (not sure how reliable sources though). So the lower-cost ones may not be coming back anytime soon. Who knows. There definitely needs to be some differentiation rather than just the finish though, that's hard to see without the blade in hand, especially given the effects of various quality cameras.
