... and I still haven't done my collection thread. Ahem. Seriously though. After a cleaning session, I spread (almost) everything out on my guest bed, and grabbed a picture. This is a year of a complete newbie trying to figure out what he wanted, and what he ended up with. Some very choice pieces are missing, but otherwise, this is the collection. Consider it a cautionary tale or a small amusing post. Enough of me rambling though - and I hope it brings a smile to some of the senior forumites' faces, or inspiration to other new people.  Collection post will be coming, eventually, once I get good pictures. |

Nicaaaah! (Everybody needs a raptor) I agree - the Raptor is a fun cutter, and seems to be quite durable compared to a lot of swords out there at the moment. It's also awfully recognizable in the group, despite there being one of my three rare gems camouflaged in this picture.  (The other two aren't here, they're up on sword racks since they don't have scabbards for storage yet.) |

Thanks sir - I know yours is hiding in the back next to the aforementioned 'rare gem', but it will definitely have glamor pictures when I actually do a collection thread. That scabbard and grip are too nice to hide away. Maybe one of the prima donnas who were 'too important' for this picture will be coming your way in the near future for work. I just need to clean her up a bit. |

The black one at the very top is a 'Made in India' German bastard sword - kinda a proto-Windlass one. Same relatively short and stout blade, but quite heavy. I like the rings and the hilt assembly though. |

Yeah, stand on that matress/duvet and get a nice overhead shot, then tell us what we're looking at. Please? The one I want to hear about is the 3rd one down... That is a special one to me, gotten for my birthday this year. It's an almost-full custom job done by this forum's tdiamante off of a Hanwei-Tinker longsword blade. It has the Printed Armoury Viscount fittings, which are beautiful. The grip is one of the best wraps I've seen, and the scabbard is also extremely good work by him. She's got a serious bite too, after Wes put a hairsplitting edge on her. (Better pictures will be absolutely coming in a collection thread.) |
