Verity, that's why I only have one sword hanging in my bedroom. Than again have you ever tried to explain to a new date why you have a brass swivel gun in your bedroom. I'm a lonely guy. :-/ My swords aren’t in my bedroom. They are in the entryway. Scares any prospective women away early! Except the one I am married to... and she loves swords. She claims when the zombies come, she’s using the Masamitsu because it “fits her like a glove”.... #winning

If she loves swords then shes a keeper. Does she have an older sister ? How about her mother, is she divorced ? Is her grandmother still alive ?

I would have to say crusader/medieval era, as it was during these times nations were in the process of being forged, and ancient Rome, as it held sway over the greatest empire ever, tho greatest doesn't necessarily mean best I gotta say the more I learn about the various orders and crusades I'm really loving my type 12 blade and other 13th century designs. I'm looking into getting a heater shield from shields plus

Japanese it’d be late Kamakura.

I've never handled a war sword but they seem like a lot of fun. Are they "heavy?" Actually, not as bad as you’d think. Especially if you snag a top notch one. My two large XIIa’s are my Angus Trim XIIa.4 and my Christian Fletcher Winter Warden (basically a tricked out Albion Baron). Specs are: Atrim XIIa.4: Overall length: 45.5” Blade length: 35.25” Blade width (at Guard): 2.25” Point of balance: 5.5” Weight: 3lb 5.8oz Winter Warden: Overall length: 47.3” Blade length: 37.25” Blade width (at Guard): 2.3” Point of balance: 5.25” Weight: 3lb 11oz. Both blades are deceptively agile given their ferocity and appearance. Massive blades of destruction that dance pretty well. The Atrim handles better I will admit but that is comparing two fantastic blades. Now compare to my (only) XII arming sword (Valiant Armoury Castile): Overall Length: 38.6" Blade Length: 31.8" Blade Width (at Guard): 2" Point of balance: 5.5” (or so; i’ve not done a precise measurement) Weight: 3 lbs. 2 oz. Not too different in the weight for that blade difference.

The first thing that comes to me on reading this is: Why WOULDN'T you have a brass swivel gun in your bedroom if the opportunity presented itself?
