Thanks to Julian Schuetze of Blood & Iron for providing this footage of my elimination rounds from the advanced cutting tournament at CombatCon 2017!
The first elimination round involved semaphore cutting on 2 single mat stands. Off to the right of the camera, one of the judging staff held a semaphore (baton) in each hand. He would step to one side or the other to indicate which mat was being cut and use the semaphores to indicate which cut to perform on that mat. The semaphore indicated the direction from which the cut had to originate. The cut had to be performed quickly, while the judge still had the semaphore in position (about 2 seconds).
For the second elimination round, the person cutting had to perform as many unique cuts as possible between the two stands (one single mat and one double mat) without repeating a cut. So, for example, if I performed a true edge descending right to left cut on the double mat stand, I couldn't perform that cut again on either stand.

This was fun to watch in person. Note: I'm in the background inside the Albion booth :)

Awesome! What blade were you using? Do you train HEMA and where? That false edge cut in 2nd round is great. Severely sprained my left wrist doing that cut at a Swordguild summer bash.

Yes, I train and teach cutting at the Phoenix Society of Historical Swordsmanship. Prior to training with them, I didn't practice rising false edge cuts (sotani) very often, but they have become one of my favorite cuts. I performed the cuts with my Cold Steel Hand and a Half sword.
