Based on the price I would believe it is a Musashi. The Chinese DaDao is not very complicated in design. It wouldn't cost much for them to produce it. It's just a big chunk of steel with a handle and guard. What would be interesting is the performance of the blade. If it is high quality this would pretty well kill Cold Steel's DaDao business or anybody's for that matter. Musashi puts out quality blades. Depending on the price point their fittings can be hit or miss. This one doesn't have much in fittings and so the blade should be rock solid.

"blood grooves"....AAAAARRRRGGGHHH!
But looks like it might be a good buy if you want a helluva chopper.
Somebody get one and test it. 'Tis not my cup of tea, or I would.

I would like to think that this da doa will not kill the other company da doa business but more or less introduce people to Da dao .The picking is slim out there for Da doa so far I only see Cold steel , Han wie and Master Zhi . I came across Linton made Da Dao at $135 from some website but I could not remember the place. Garrett's Da Dao still beat them all

I saw that the other day too. Assuming there isn't just a rat tail between the blade and ring (ya never know), it might be worth a shot. Just noticed it's listed as a "full tang" item, but it could still be a skinny tang. Dammit! I wish there was some way to tell.

I agree with wraith. It even said in the description that musashi was "Taking a break from making katanas", so you would think they would say something on their website. Maybe someone should email musashi just to double check.

Notice nothing is said about blade thickness! Probably about 1/16 in. (2mm). Sort of like the "300" sword but only 1045!

Okay people. I've emailed Zinje twice about this and this is what I got: Hi Martin, I honestly don't know about these Chinese swords. All I know is they come from the same distributor as the Musashi Line. Probably not from the same forge. Roger

eh well i hope someone takes the plundge cuz i might be intrested I decide to order it once I realized that Trueswords.com is SBG sponsor so they would not push bad stuff on us (wouldn't they ?) . They e-mail me about the weight of this dao which is 3.5 pounds so it is right in the spec of the Da Dao. I have Cold steel factory second Chinese battle sword so I can compare them side by side.
