The only depiction of Batman I've ever really liked. That stinks. Sad news, indeed. RIP, Mr. West.

Adam West, like Robin Williams, is one of the small handful of celebrities I actually care about enough to be saddened by their passing. I think the only one left is Rowan Atkinson...

First Batman I ever remember watching when I was a kid was Adam West with Burt Ward as Robin. RIP Adam West.

I’m not much on actors but that one I liked and the only Batman worth a flip.

As a kid in the sixties I totally bought in to the idea that Batman was a serious show. My brother and sisters wanted to watch Lost in Space which was on at the same time so my parent decreed we would watch Batman one week and Lost in Space the next. The way it fell out was I always saw the episode in which the villain of the week caught Batman and Robin in a trap but never the one in which they escaped. It still irritates me to this day. Now as an adult when I watch the old show i simply don't care for it, it's not funny to me it's just silly but I still have warmth in my heart for all the cast and especially Adam West. Silly as it all was he never just phoned it in. He gave it his all, his comedy timing was dead on and he never seemed like he thought he was too good for the show even though he clearly was. The best Batman? I wouldn't say that but only because the material let him down. The best actor to ever play the role? There's a definite argument to be made for that. Plus he never had a problem mocking himself which is a darned admirable trait.

Just heard about it from my dad. Crazy he was one of those guys you'd think would live forever, especially with his Family Guy character. I wonder how they send him off on Family Guy?
