Today, I practiced the following lightning cut pattern: a right-to-left descending cut, followed by a left-to-right false edge ascending cut and then another descending right-to-left cut. I performed these cuts with my Cold Steel Hand and a Half sword. A while ago, forum member Huer-Ta replaced the thin, stitched black leather on the grip with a nice cord and red leather grip. Several Phoenix Society club members have cut with it since and have commented on how much better the grip is now. Great job, Steve!

Very nice! I don't see myself being able to do this anytime soon - but one can dream.
I however, second Huer-Ta's grip re-wrap and re-core skills. The one that he did for me is at least right up there with the VAs I have.

Niiiice. False edge cuts are the bread and butter of longswords and you nailed that one quite well!
