Hi VerityThanks for the great write-up and amazing photography. I might have to borrow a few of those shots. It's interesting how the patina has changed on the pommel. Handling may have contributed a bit to that. Jeffrey can probably point you in the right direction to get some more antiquing solution, which can darken the pommel considerably more so the tang is not so obvious - though it will hide the writing some. You can see how much darker it used to be and how much more the script stood out on the old photo: :-) You're welcome to lift the review and any pics for your site! I actually don't think the pommel patina changed. It's still pretty consistent with when I first got it. The peen itself blackened some and the etching I simply think has patina'd naturally so it isn't as "shiny" as when it first arrived. I think that is where the color difference came from over time.

That's a great review! I can't wait to Read your other reviews Is the scabbard made entirely of leather?

That's a great review! I can't wait to Read your other reviews Is the scabbard made entirely of leather? If you're talking about the tooling and designs? Absolutely, it's all made of dyed leather, exquisitely done - over a hardwood core. Brendan is a bit of a wizard with that (among many other things). I almost love the scabbard more than the sword in this case, despite that being heresy. If the scabbard had been a slightly lighter blue blue (like Verity mentions), I think it would be absolutely tied in my mind (and I love the sword).

I think the whole thing being a shade lighter would have made it photograph a bit better.

That sword is sooo cool, Mr. Verity. That's what the Master Sword should have been. It's a real treasure you have there.

The first time I saw this piece, I was in shock that something so perfect could possibly exist. A true work of art.

Eventually, I will save up for one. Then on top of that, I need to have an actual idea I would like done. A daunting task.

That is stunning. What a blade. This really looks to me like what I had always envisioned the Master Sword to be. The fuller adds a nice touch as well. It truly looks worthy of the smiths in Gondolin of old.
