Does anyone have any experience buying from Szabla Polska ( www.szablapolska.com/)? I am considering placing an order with them, but they are an unknown to me. Please let me know if you had any good/bad experience purchasing from them, and why. Also, I would love to know what people think of their swords.

I have no experience buying from them personally, but I've heard they are quite good from people more knowledgable in sabers than me. I once tried myself and they are pretty slow at answering mails, just so you know. What is a great plus is that AFAIK they are the only dealer of Andrzej Mikiciak, who is one of THE best saber makers in poland, and most likely world. His main problem with him is that getting on his list is hard as hell (it took him 6 months just to reply to me) but his work is definitely worth it, see for yourself www.facebook.com/andrzej.mikiciak?fref=ts . Not all swords are of his making but this one is szablapolska.com/index.php/szabla-wgiersko-polska-batorowka-typ-2 and I think one of the Ordynka's too. Luck have it this one is (or at least was 2 weeks ago) in stock, so you can skip the couple months wait list. His prices are significanly lower though. If you would rather get something from him directly let me know I'll tell you how to contact him (you better speak polish though).

I've actually exchanged email messages with them several times over the last few days, and they seem to be pretty responsive and happy to clarify details in English (which is great, because I don't know any Polish). I was just today told that even though it would need to be made-to-order, the order fulfillment expectation was only about 40 days. On top of that, they don't require a deposit (which seems crazy, but I guess business is good enough they aren't concerned about moving excess stock). The price also seems to be pretty low considering it's custom made and high quality (at least judging from their catalog photos).
It all seems almost too good to be true, and that is why I'm really hoping to hear from someone with first-hand experience buying from them.

I said that Mikiciak most likely doesn't speak english. If you get something from them let us know/do a review because I am curious myself of their quality.
Out of curiosity, what do you plan on getting?

I know this thread is old. How did this turn out for you? I was planning on getting the same sword, but it's quite expensive now, at about $1600 USD. That's a lot for sight-unseen. Do you think it's worth it?

Nice looking sabers.
One thing to keep in mind. These swords are listed at about 36” oal. To me, whether historical or not, those stats belong to infantry or maybe artillery sabers.
It’s hard to tell from the photos, but the scabbards might be a bit undersized for cavalry duty, too (e.g., the suspension rings might be a bit small).
Again, these proportions might be historically accurate; I don’t know. But if you display one alongside, say, a French 1822 light cav saber, the szabla would look kinda small. Set next to a ‘22 heavy, it would look positively dainty.
No criticism intended; just a bit of a heads-up.

Funny, I was just looking at this post yesterday as I was considering reaching out to them for a karabela or hussar saber. I had emailed them in the past with no answer, but reached out again yesterday about their Hussar saber type 6...but they responded they no longer make that one. Have asked about 2 others and am waiting hear about pricing/lead time. Which type did you ask about, Cain?
