I just rediscovered this blade tonight, always loved it (Graham Ashe's sword from Highander series). It's still offered. Anyone have one? Any thoughts?

I didn't want to make it sound like the longer model is a slow poke. At well more than a pound lighter than an A&A GBS, my 5157 is longer than the GBS. It is quite nimble in its own right. Mine had come in trade but both models had been on a long list back then. One minor niggle I found with mine is a tiny amount of shift in the wire wrapping. A drop of glue at one end keeps it in place. The wire is quite nice other than that with a flattened, rather than round feel. A favorite. I wouldn't go heavy on the cutting. Bad cuts will cause more stress than good cuts. Del Tin does use aan extended tang on the long grips and will bend in near abuse. ARMA had a picture report at one point about bending an English two hander, a cracked grip and tang exposed. Mine has never had a lot of cutting but was cutting empty gallon jugs at one point. A few mats over the years. A great forms sword and light cutter.

I have had the Gothic DT5155 for a long time. Bought it used years ago. I like it. Had Sarge sharpen and make a scabbard for it. Don't think the previous owner ever did anything with it to include maintenance. Has an old look to it. Blade on mine has decent stiffness.

I've always liked Del Tins, like this one. If kult of Athena ever restocks their Del Tin supply I'm thinking of getting several models.
