It's like having a living history switchboard.Perfect ( PS: To call the collection "replica" is only true in the context historical exemplar. 85% of the modern service swords and 15% of the 17-18th Century swords are period pieces. ) My most humble apologies sir! I stand corrected and meant no offense. Forgive my late night brain fog. I would be most impressed with even a quarter of your collection. Actual artifacts are of course the most noteworthy!

I could translate - or shorten - this into bavarian english, but I won't cause you a hernia . (rebane: that's not a joke at your expense, I once made a similar post with all respect to Sir Dave)

Though it is hard not to fawn over this collection.

( Attended exercise planning conference meetings in this terrible place call Garmisch-Partenkirch ( I wanna live there ) ;) ). Anyway, Munich restaurant for diner, and ask this lovely waitress for a Munich bier with a "full body" character. Blame my terrible Deutsch because she came back with a 32oz mug of gasoline that was 20 proof. Can't remember the brand. ( Heavy Beers can run 12-16 proof anyway. It was thirty years ago, so the fish just gets bigger over time.) Point being, after 24 oz I sounded just like yours above. Recognized the hacksent. :D

I'm hoping to pay a visit to Dave sometime this month, once he's feeling a bit better. Turns out we're practically next door to each other, less than an hour drive between us.
Excited to see all this in person; just waiting for him to let me know when he's ready for guests again.

Today I had the privilege of seeing Mr. Kelly's collection in person. It's rather overwhelming once you're actually among it; my eyes didn't know where to go, but my hands stayed in my pockets (I can try the whole "self control" thing, you know) until he started handing me things. So many things. Most of them complete with a history of not only their development and introduction to service, but also of how (and from whom/where) he acquired each. Absolutely fantastic time. Thanks again for having me over.

Having looked at his collection pictures I only have one question, how the hell did you get though the whole collection in just one day?! Congrats

I only have one question, how the hell did you get though the whole collection in just one day?! Congrats Selectively. I tried (very hard, mind) not to fixate too long on any one thing, and he made a point to keep moving on to the next one. At one time he had several out that he was comparing to each other as I went from one to the other to another, back to the first one, now a fourth, and so on. Perhaps another day I'll visit again and spend more time going over each piece. Dave joked that perhaps next time I could help him clean everything. I would actually welcome the opportunity. Oh, Dave's a cool guy, too. Just in case anybody was wondering.

Thanks again for having me over. :) Your welcome. Random brought a very interesting medley of Kyber and Algerian knives and some Oriental pieces. Appreciated the sharing. Made for an all too very fast 2.5 hours. Truth to tell I got tied up the previous night packing out a purchase that didn't want to leave. Got to bed late and pissed off. Didn't sleep well. By 1500, I was out of form. Apologies for that. Time slips too quickly. By all means, feel free to come on back at your convenience.

Dear Sir, Iam new in this forum so Iam sorry if my request is not accepted. For short introduction, I would like to purchase Imperial Guard light cavalry sabre (sabre of the Chasseurs a Cheval że La Guard). That's why, because I saw in your collection 2 models: 1. 1804 Imp Gd LC Sabre, 2. WEI Imp Gds enl 1804 LC Sabre Would be possible if you send me some pros and cons regarding this sabres with some pictures. Pause , as I mentioned I will focus on replica and product of EC looks more historical could you additionally answer if my approach is good or there is other option. Best regards Arek

Mr. Kelly, Your collection is stunning. Seeing so many treasures in one place is almost overwhelming (in a really good way). I’ll bet you can hear history whispering to you when you’re in there. Thank you for sharing.
