I still cant figure out how you cut those petal shapes . I've spent today lathing out 5 pommels, so I feel you. It looks tops.

Thanks Brenno, as far as how I did it..I'm afraid i don't have a lathe from my grandpa ..so to remove most of the meat I used the mystical and little heard of smithing tool.....the elgna rednirg.....a tool which most have never seen and which a smith like you has probably never even heard of Then I cleaned it up and finished it up with good old files and sandpaper. I also gave myself a surprise today when I weighed the final product...it's actually 5 oz heavier than the original, but because of the drastically better balance i would have guessed it was lighter. I guess it goes to show that it's really all about mass distribution...not just mass. Dan

Do you have the Noibla version, dnad?
It looks really well formed, for a hand removal job. I find it hard to believe you did that by hand.
