So there you go, as long as the tang and grip is strongly attached together a screw on pommel is good. Unless you swing your 7-8 pound sword by the pommel but this one is only 5.95 pounds according to Ryan Swords. Now all I have to do is find one for sale without PayPal payment.

Still take Jeffrey's Jeffrey's looks better for sure, not sure if its just the lighting, but his blade seems to almost shine in your picture

Its not just the lighting Jeff put a really nice finish on it something I doubt Albion could afford to put that kind of time into. Thats why I feel price for quality Jeff's is way out in front.

When Conan's father's sword is being forged at the beginning of the movie was that process accurate? I don't know anything about forging swords so I figured you folks would know.

Steel being poured into a mold? No, that's not how it it done.
Forum member brotherbonzai has several videos showing the process for creating a sword from start to finish. Give me a minute and I'll post a link...
Edit: Here is his video of the making of the Aurochs Sword, which is very similar to the father's sword from the Conan movie:

Thanks Aikidoka. I'm an amateur astronomer and I've seen plenty of bad astronomy on tv and in movies so I'm not surprised sword stuff can suffer the same problem.

Bronze swords were casted and afaik the Chinese made swords of cast iron, which is not steel. So casting swords is not only pure fantasy. But cast steel did not exist before the middle of the 19. cent. and requires better than medieval techniques and chemistry. Casting the blade and then hammering it (work hardening) would be right for a bronze sword.

I placed an order for one of these Destroyer swords last Tuesday and received it today. Here is a picture with the pommel removed. It wasn't difficult to unscrew since it isn't holding the hilt together and therefore didn't need to be overly tightened. I took it off because I heard a slight rattle in the pommel. Turns out that thin washer wasn't held tightly in place. So I replaced it with a new washer and a lock washer. Now everything is tight and should stay that way. I like the look and feel of the sword. The ricasso engraving looks really nice, since it is actually engraved, rather than printed.

Interesting, it looks like that threaded section is part of the tang rather than a welded on threaded rod. I wish the maker would show one of these being assembled to show how the handle/grip is attached to the tang. The wood looks like it's two halfs which means the tang is the full width of the grip. Yep I would grab one of these if they were taking payment other than PayPal.

I thought those fittings would be hollow and not solid. Nah wouldn't be for me.
