Hi all -- I'm Mike. Joined this forum about September I think and been posting a few things without even seeing this section so my apologies for not introducing myself but better late than never. Recently retired young so have bulk spare time on my hands. 22 years in a Federal government agency but before that I was a metal worker which is one reason I'm interested in this forum and threads of discussion. I lived in Papua New Guinea till age 18 whereupon migrated to Brisbane Australia -- late 1970s. Nowadays I spend summers in Brisbane and the rest of the year drift around Thailand, Cambodia, Indonesia and Philippines where my government pension goes a lot further. Thanks to all for the encyclopaedia of info on this forum. With my metalwork experience I might even consider turning out my own blades (if I ever settle down). Have a small collection along with my son which includes some Citadels (which are absolute jewels of swords) some cutters from PRC and a pair of Siamese swords ("Daab-song-meu") which I adore. Also some martial arts weapons and bayonets. That's about it, so thanks to all. Kindest Regards, Mike S

Kind thanks for replies.
Unfortunately never been to Europe but my Dad has gone innumerable times and raves about Germany, Austria and Switzerland -- his faves.
With the Phillies I've been about seven times, no less. Once for work in November 2000 and other times as a traveler; been all over with the exception of Palawan. Even been through Sulu and Mindanao from Sandakan Malaysia on the MV Mary-Joy II. Fascinated by the country and particularly some of the mind-blowing Filipino martial arts.

Palawan is really the most beautiful, but everywhere else is very nice too (apart from the horrible cities in Metro Manila, ironically where I live).
