What kind of sword is Rarou (the blonde dude) using? A yanmaodao or liuyedao?

I'd call it a yanmaodao. Wodao/woyaodao/Qijiadao might work, too.

It looks like a Tang Dao (hengdao, or chokuto) to me. The anime clip depicts it as a straight, single edged blade with a chisel tip. Something like this:

It looks like a Tang Dao to me. The anime clip depicts it as a straight, single edged blade with a chisel tip. It actually depends on the angle and the shot; in most shots throughout the film, it's actually very subtly curved and has a more rounded tip, which has always made me think it's just a katana with an unusual hilt. This is especially true if you look at the official sketch of the sword: If nothing else, though, I'd agree with Timo's assessment of it being a wodao; since Luo Lang is meant to be a warrior of the Ming Dynasty (if not necessarily Chinese himself), it would fit.
