Did you intend for this to appear in the reviews section?

i would like to have a useable scythe. not a farming scythe or a "war scythe". If you want a scythe that isn't a working tool ("farming scythe") or a weapon ("war scythe"), what else is there? If you mean the scythes as used in Mair, those are just regular farm scythes of the time. Not a common design today, but still available: myarmoury.com/talk/viewtopic.php?p=286016

Perhaps if you could draw or find an image showing what you want specifically it could help. We've got a few fellows on here that can make longer blades. L.Driggers(fallen) sbg-sword-forum.forums.net/user/26392 forges a lot of axes and hawks but has been making swords lately as well so he may be able to do it for you.

I think he means this: scythesupply.com/images/Outfitnew1.jpgwithout the additional handles and better attaching system. In some areas not all the scythes have curved handle. It comes down to what branch is cut from the tree.

I remember late summer, or was it early fall, we’d cut the hay for winter feed. My uncle was a rather large man and did the cutting. That scythe was way too much for me to handle although I did some minor work with a sickle. It was probably not as much as I remember it being but I see no way that huge ungainly thing would make a decent weapon. Dang, I can see him now swinging that thing, large, slow, sweeping, horizontal cuts. It was up to the rest of us to throw the hay up to the wagon with pitch forks, a job that I truly hated as the dust would go everywhere, my eyes, down my shirt, stick to my sweaty body, not to mention that it was hard work. A mule pulled the wagon to the barn and then it was the reverse process of unloading the hay. Brings back memories.
