Just want to share with everyone mine nicest collection of Viking era swords. Two Albion's (squire line) and two Valiant Armoury's. Both have pros and cons.
All are awesome! My favorite type of swords. The Viking era I mean.

Could you expand a bit on the pros and cons of the 2 VA's? Viking swords are my favorites as well - though i have yet to own any Valiants.

Hi nothing to major for the cons. Please remember I am no expert nor do I practice any HEMA etc. Just an enthusiast and my opinion. The Albion's vikings are really well balanced. When I received my Squire Gotland it was an eye opener. I was in able to wield the Gotland real well. My Albion Vinland a little heavier but still quite manageable. For the price though, no sheaths and unsharpened. Plain leather handle wraps. Kind of a bummer but they are squire line. Still both Albion's i have are well made. The VA vikings are significantly blade heavy compared to the Albion's. Bit of a difference when handling the sword etc. Not as much control or balance as the Albion's if that makes sense. But both VA's they came sharp, no secondary bevel, well done i think. Excellent sheaths and grips that were standard with the swords for the price. Fittings on the Albion is 99.8%. The leather wrap on the Vinland not to good. The line is not straight. Kind of crooked. See first pic below. For $600 bucks they could have done a bit better job. The VA's are 90%, and I say that because blade and the hilt area have some gaps. See second pic. The Albion's are perfect. Nothing major but for the price on the VA's ($590 plus) some people may be bothered. I was. Its the special edition line. I expected more. Attachments:

I'd agree with all your points about the Albions. They feel better in-hand than all the other brands of sword i have. And the fit-and-finish are top-notch. The one deficiency being the plain grips. Which makes me want to learn how to do a re-grip. With Valiant - it sounds like you certainly get a lot for your $$. Incredible value and very very good quality. Maybe not Albion level quality - but awesome for the money. And those scabbards - freakin nice! It's remarkable how close the VAs and the SLs are in price - with each being great in their own ways. Now you gotta get the SL Viking: www.albion-swords.com/swords/albion/squire/sword-squire-viking.htm- so you can do a side by side comparison... BTW - my 100th post ! Huzzah!

Keep in mind with the Valiant you're getting a really nice custom scabbard which almost makes the sword free. No scabbard with the Albions, but if you don't want or need the scabbard then get the Albion. If you regrip the Squire Line Albion you'll have a really nice sword.
