Custom Sword Box and Carrying Case

Still waiting on my commissioned blade, but thought I'd share this custom sword box I built for it. I just finished the carcass and fittings tonight. I still need to decoupage the interior with dragon silk, hence no interior pics yet.
Poplar stained rosewood color. Hard to tell, but dovetail joints due to the stain and rounded over corners. 10 coats of lacquer. Brass Chinese fittings including a fish-shaped lock.
That's all the old school features. The new school stuff is hidden underneath. I have two tie-down rings bolted into the bottom with magnets at the tip of the rings. The bottom is about 1/4" recessed, so when I do not use a strap, the tie-down rings stick to the bottom of the box instead of flapping around. The tie-down rings allow me to use a Timbuk2 strap that has the quick release cam for easy on and off and adjustment.
