Hi guys. Thanks for the add!! Wanted to share a project about 14 years in the making. Ever so since Albion announced their highlander project back in 2003 I've been wanting one of these unfortunately Albion dropped the license and the project was abandoned and I as well as many other people were refunded their deposit fast forward 13 years and I got one finally. I know there's are other makers out there that make equally as good or better reproductions but ive just always had my heart set on an Albion. keep in mind Albion had the license when these parts were made. its an Albion Hi handle with an Albion tsuba mounted on a rick barret 1075 carbon steel folded blade. This is Jose de Braga's reinterpretation of the handle in the first film. I've always loved the first handle but envisioned one that was much cleaner with more detail so the Jose H1 was my choice. Rick was originally on the highlander project back in 2003 so I figured he would be the most qualified to put my sword together for me Handle is pressure fitted by Albion and rick has reinforced the wall of the handle chamber with carbon fiber cloth. It's a fully functional sword meaning it can be broken down tsuba handle and Habaki are fully removable via the bronze pin for blade maintenance and cleaning. Next project I think I'll do the H3 the same way as this one using the same procedures here are a few pics. Again happy to be here on SBG! Attachments:

Welcome to the forum. Awesome project and great tenacity on going through with it. I think you have the only Albion Highlander in the world. Also fitting to the Highlander reference.

Very cool......... I was 14 when the original Highlander movie came out. I was a Sean Connery fan from his turn as James Bond. Even as a kid I liked his Bond over the others. Despite being a somewhat lame movie, I was also a fan of Kiefer Sutherland, so watched the Three Musketeers film he was in. Both got me interested in swords. The Highlander TV series was ok. The series was partly filmed in Vancouver, it just happened my father was renting an office in a shared office space. The Highlander production offices was in the same space. I only met one actor from the show, the guy who played Dawson Jim Byrnes. I did end up buying the Marto Highlander Katana as seen on the series. As a wall hanging and for feel, it wasn't a bad buy. Just wouldn't try cutting with it.......................
Now I'm not a big fan of wall hangings. Even nice ones like my Highlander Katana. Feels like it could be functional. Long way of saying Id be a buyer if this became a small official run.
Curious how much as a single one off deal?

Hi Max. I know back in 1999-2000ish Albion was advertising three different variants HI, HII ,and HIII. Price was ridiculous to me around $3,500 each. Im thinking alot of the cost was for the licensing as well as it being a fully functional blade. Back then it was to much for me to afford. Wife said no. LOL! fast forward to 2016 , I bought the Tsuka(Handle) and the Tsuba(guard) from Albion. They had some leftover from the abandoned project. The Tsuba cost me $200 and the Handle $500. I then found the Original bladesmith that was going to forge the blades and mount them for the project and he agreed to forge me a blade and mount it. His blades usually start at $3000 and go up but he gave me a special package deal of $2500 to build and mount it for me because he just wanted to see what one of the completed swords would have looked like had they have went into production back in 1999. So as a total I spent $3200 for the mounting as well as the saya he built for it. I actually came in a few hundred dollars cheaper than they would have cost in production had the project had been green lit. I think its a pretty fair deal considering its the only Albion HI Its been my dream sword since I heard about the project back in 99. Still expensive i know and a lot of people probably think its to much money but to me it was worth it having a fully functional albion highlander HI carved by Jose De Braga. Theres a guy now at Texas Steel Prop Replicas that has the licesne to build Highlander swords now, but the quality is ......... EH. Hope this Helps!!

For what it's worth I have two TSPR highlander bladed, an H1 and a season 1, both are pretty solid. The H1 has some assembled goofiness and roughness, but the season 1 is pretty tops. Both on functional DH blades. Handles on these don't come off, but I think someone did a review for one of them awhile back that had the tsuka able to be removed. My biggest complaint with TSPR is Daryl can get super overwhelmed and needs some prodding for responses at times. But he's a good dude and I'm happy to own battle ready highlander blades 🤣.
