Hehe...blade is not 100% correct...has no fuller; but great distal taper. Runes are well engraved, ricasso area looks a little too wide. Hellish sharp, excellent flex, rings like a bell. Attachments:

Not bad for a sword . Fine to have a scabbard. What's the weight?

there is a real one, with a keyed and PEENED pommel and grip core fitted to the tang. Albion makes it.

Thank you very much for the hint, but that's 10 times the price, too much for me. And it weights also too much for a real sword. There is a review at myArmoury.
I looked up the Albion page and found, that their Conan the Destroyer-version of the sword has the same swelling ricasso like Holgs sword.
Time to watch the movies again, perhaps even Red Sonja.

It's there already, but this thread has more interesting posts in the meantime. Two years ago I would have been happy to have such a thread for my research about buying this beast. If anyone has pictures of a broken MRL Atlantean, please post it here!

For pure fun I'm satisfied with the MRL. I'm only would like to know if it's possible to make a functional replica under 2 kg.

Not with real bronze fittings it wouldn't be.

I have wanted the Conan sword since the original movie came out. However, I wanted a version that would not snap in two, if I struck an item such as a wooden 2x4 or major tree limb, etc. Not that I would do so, but I wanted an affordable "battle ready beater". I thought I finally found it in the Windlass version. Then, I read of the initial Tang and screw on pommel issues. Yet, there was hope again, when changes were made to at least the Tang construction. Yet, I see in this thread that the new Tang may still be too weak? See the Windlass and Albion Tang comparisons below. They have different lengths due to different pommel attachments and Albion's is angled at the blade, but both tangs seem to be the same widths. Therefore, if the Windlass version may be too weak to take a hard strike, is the Albion too weak as well? Or, since the Windlass Tang is as wide as Albion's Tang, does that mean the Windlass version can take a hard strike without snapping or bending at the Tang? See the following link to photo of Windlass Conan Atlantean Tang as of at least 2014 sbg-sword-forum.forums.net/attachment/download/32808See the following link to Albion Conan Atlantean Tangs i669.photobucket.com/albums/vv59/StromloSwords/Conan%20Blades/P1.jpg

This makes me wonder how their Valeria sword is constructed.

I see the Valeria has a similar tang construction. Scratch that one off my list.
