Nice collection. It looks like you take great care of your blades.

Nice collection. It looks like you take great care of your blades. Thanks. Nothing fancy. I just sharpen and polish them as soon as they arrive, after some cleaning and a few stress tests of course. Then it's just a matter of oiling them after cutting sessions and picking them up. Admittedly I am a bit OCD about it all though. Also, I don't keep swords in their scabbards if they're leather. Wood or metal I'm okay with though... And I handle them with gloves whenever possible... And I make guests handle them.with gloves too... Yeah... A bit OCD.

So you are the one who purchased that Douglas Targe! (Would love to know your thoughts on it?) Very cool collection

Well you won't have to worry about storing your Laird in one of my scabbards. They are wool lined and work great for long term storage.

So you are the one who purchased that Douglas Targe! (Would love to know your thoughts on it?) Very cool collection It's very nice. So nice in fact that I'm getting the Albion Liard and a DBK scabard to go along side it. Right now I have a Hanwei Basket Hilted Broadsword. Which is like pairing a king with a peasant. I actually reviewed it on KOA if you want to check it out.

I emailed him about another one of his Targes as well as about where to gind good Scottish kilts and accessories. He pointed me toward USA kilt and was nice enough to send me a pic of the exact Targe I ordered, because the KOA pics were outdated. It's also worth noting that his mother works so awesome it has driven me to begin tooling leather myself.

I've exchanged a few emails with Douglas in the past and he certainly is a great guy and really helpful. When we last chatted he wasn't really setup for international postage so I've just been biding my time watching his stock at KoA. I really like his work and am planning on ordering one after I get my Scottish Backsword from Rob Miller / Castlekeep Swords later this year.
Thanks for your review, great to know they are more than just for show and have a good degree of durability and functionality.

Finally finished the sheath for my Rondell Dager Saturday. Just in time for my first trip to the Ren Faire. Also, my Cold Steel MAA Messer should be here tomorrow.
