Great review John. I have thought for getting that Lion Dog daisho for a long time. After watching your review and hearing your thoughts about it I might get one later this year if I have free funds. They seem to be a killer deal.

Great review! Yes I've always liked this set and have recommended it in a few threads. Seems very comparable to the Musashi Shirakawa line and at similar price too. Seem to be an almost similar sword in regards to fittings and finish. Honestly if someone showed me one of these Jubei swords, without any knowledge of the brand, I'd have believed it a Musashi S.
What highlights this "Jubei" brand though over Musashi is the availability of wakizashi! I have contemplated many times on getting the stand alone wakizashi to complement my Musashi Shirakawa but just haven't pulled the trigger yet.
Speaking of Jubei, so were they ever their own manufacturer, or was it just a different selling name? Assuming with their similarity to Musashi, I figured SnA had some swords made for them from Musashi and sold them as Jubei swords to differentiate. With Munetoshi overlaping the Jubei brand it could be assumed they were the actual manufacturer. Though Munetoshi have a distinct look to their swords compared to Musashi, which is why I came to the first assumption when Jubei first released.

Thanks guys. Jussi I think they are a good deal. And yes they are very comparable to the Musashi Shirakawa series. My son has my Musashi and it's been awhile since I've seen it,but I think these may be a little stouter blade,I'll have to get my hands on the Musashi to be sure. Jubei is just a name SwordnArmory (Munetoshi)used.

very nice form, you are very experienced. This brings a few questions, you can probably cut the bottles with a 2 X 4. I have a Hanwei Lion Dog Katana(SH2439I). how does that compare? with your skill, can you start to compare other swords? this would help others that do NOT gave your SKILLS

The Munetoshi Lion Dog is a budget priced(and built)katana. It is not in the same league as the Hanwei Lion Dog.The Hanwei LD is just a better made piece with better materials.
