Hello, Wondering if anyone has done custom scales on their folders, and what to use for the scale material. The idea would be to take a Cold Steel Rajah 3, and fix it up a bit to make it cooler. Like this. Now thats a Rajah 2, but I think you get the idea. That guy used G-10 for scales, and LOTS of work. Awesome. You can find the full thing here; data.gearbastion.com/icp/6B65AFD2524C4A51BA901517F80BEFF8 Here is another custom CS Rajah 2, maybe even cooler than the first, if that is possible; www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/cold-steel-rajah-ii-custom-pimped-423527578 I would really like to do that to a Rajah 3. I've made a set of black walnut scales for a Windlass fixed blade I bought, and a set for a cheap machete. But never done a folder. Can/should it be done? And what would be the toughest material to use? G-10? Micarta? Thanks, and feel free to post pictures of your custom folders. 1776

I haven't done it, but it can obviously be done(since people have done/are doing it, hahaha). Here is a thread from BladeForums, done it the way back(2008) on G10 and Micarta(and a couple of others) and their relative toughness. I'd say solid steel is probably the toughest, but not exactly feasible to make, hahaha.

Yeah, that was what I was think. I think I'd go for G-10. Any idea where to buy it? To make sure I don't get a rip off?
