This review is in two parts... sort of..
First is the review part.. (the into is a bit of comedy)
The second part is the destructive test. Its a little more complete with final thoughts.
Let me know if you have any questions or if I missed anything.
Quick summary..
The badish.. Looks simple, cord wrap feels a little odd, COP is a little low, there is a gap between the blade and crossguard, and the pommel has some edges that stick out where it meets the grip.
The goodish.. The blade feels easy to control, the edge is nice and the blade is in better shape than most windlass stuff I have seen, it cuts reasonably well, and the sword can survive extensive abuse.

Another top notch video Matthew! Another public thank you from Ronin for the time and effort you put into this. That goes for all the testers for Ronin over the years. This sword in particular was tested by Paul in Hong Kong prior to going out for a beat down with Matthew, so it was put through it's paces on multiple continents.
Now for a little PSA from Ronin -
Honestly, I would like to see more manufactures sending out swords to be destroyed like this. While I don't mind being king of the hill, destruction testing provides a lot of value to the community. Ronin has donated over $10k in swords over the years, and with 5,000,000 views and counting, obviously people are interested in seeing what happens when you do stupid things to a sword. It's not rocket science, but it is in fact science. Educating people on what a sword, which is a weapon, can, and can not do is important. Education takes on many shapes, and destructive videos are one.
Hopefully, someone in a position to decide to start sending things off to get broken is going to see this, or read this, and think, hey, maybe Ronin is on to something. Maybe showing people katana can't cut tanks in half is a good thing. Maybe showing them slamming your long sword into another sword is going to damage it, is also a good thing.
The safer the hobby is, the better all of us who love and use swords are going to be. There are plenty of people, like Matthew Jensen who are more than willing to put the time and the effort into making the hobby better for all of us. Send them some swords and let them break them.

Cough cough.. you could just send them to Matthew Jensen cough cough.. Destructive testing is a hoot to do for the most part. Its always fun to see what a sword can take and I am glad that there is some value to the community. I would be happy to do it for any other manufacturer but no one is knocking LOL.
