ive seen a few negative reviews for the ones on the site. they do look nice though. i would prefer something a that could be used as a tool as well or something that has a better chopping potential.

While I don't have any of those knives, I've had no problems with the modern Sheffield knives I have. Are you after a tool or a weapon? Could be worth doing a bit of research to get a better idea of just what you're after and what you'll actually use it for. Don't forget it's illegal in the UK to carry a knife with a blade over 3 inches.

I was going to suggest something from Kizlyar, but it seems the prices have gone up a bit... the KO-1 is still within your price range, though, at least here in Finland. Dunno about UK retailers. At any rate, Kizlyar is amazing value for the money! Better quality than Ka-Bar if you ask me.

demonking you were vague with your requirements. I know that £80 is your limit, a fighting knife that is capable of chopping and giving a thrust. With that in mind have you considered a Windlass Bowie? I have their 1880 Coffin Handle Bowie but in keeping with Windlass’ tradition, they come out with an outstanding piece and then discontinue it. A dealer somewhere may still have one in stock. This is one of the few bowies I’ve found with a pot belly and this to me was the selling point and I use it daily for about everything, mostly preparing food but has cut limbs. CS also makes one but at a higher price. Windlass' D-Guard Bowie makes a outstanding fighting knife if you can put up with the 17” blade. It is faster than the 1880 Coffin Handle but not as good at chopping but will chop. It handles much like a short sword. At present I see KoA has a Windlass 1880 Bowie within your price range. The handle is slightly thinner, the blade about 2” shorter than the Coffin Handle and has a straight edge. The price equivalent in the US of all of the above is less than £80, I don’t know in the UK. The 1880 Coffin Handle Bowie

i want it for fighting i just want something thats better for chopping and not just stabbing. The above bowie suggestion is good. You could also consider a kukri. Tora Blades has two that would be excellent chopping-capable fighting knives for under GBP80.
