My thought is that it is overpriced, even at the present special of $70 from the normal $110. Nothing is stated about the gauge of metal. Check KoA out. They are offering bucklers with stated gauges of 14-16. A choice of three sizes, and the price ranges from $30-$56, most below $40. MRL appears to be out of stock at the moment, if you don’t catch the $70 special it will cost you $110. If you value the signature of the craftsman that made the buckler by all means spend $70 or $110.

What is different from the MRL buckler from the other the other buckler on the market, is the the MRL ones are tempered high carbon steel. The others are made out of mild steel, so the MRL buckler don't need to have a lower gauge like the mild steel ones. $70 doesn't seem that bad for a tempered steel buckler.

Going by the weight it's not thin steel. More tempted by this than the swords to be honest.
