uptonenterprises.ca/Circa-1812-Military-Swords_c_1.htmlStumbled upon this while researching another sword. It appears that this company manufactures blue and gilt repros of American and British Napoleonic Era swords. Would like better pictures of the blue and gilt details. However, from the grip shape and blade profiles, I am certain that these are not simply dressed up Universal Sword fare. For example, their 1803 has fishskin-ish grips with actual contours, and looks a darn sight better than the Universal one (below). Likewise, their 1796 Spadroon has a different blade with more profile taper near the point. Either way, could be an interesting place to turn to whenever you get bored of the usual Universal Swords fare - with or without the blue and gilt treatment

Interesting. I hope that I am wrong, but somehow there is something of what reminds me of Franklin Mint. FM made some blue and gild swords once, or had them made probably and the blue and gild was a plastic foil. What I see here looks very much like that. The blue seems very even in colour. Again, it may just be the picture. Any info on the blades?
Cheers.

So it seems I had the ,,this is blue foil'' feeling once before. I studied the pictures again and now I am even more convinced. That blue looks too even, flat and dead.
