I bought what I believe to be their Sword Infantry item #5156 on e-bay on a lark. The only good thing I can say about it is that its good for parts. @bennettsnipes has the blade, and is probably more qualified to tell you about its properties than I am. The scabbard went to my brother for cannibalization and the grips went to my fencing foil. Its definitely sub-windlass territory. Never had a Deepeeka product, but the blade certainly matches the descriptions.
You get what you pay for, and it really depends on what you are looking for out of it.

Argh...based on the purchase of a Deepeeka archers' sword 15ish years ago I vowed to never be fooled again no matter how nice they look online.
Much obliged for your guidance.

The caveat being that I have no expertise in Deepeeka swords, so I am going off of reviews. I also do not know if what I bought was indeed the product from the Quartermaster General. Based off of the images, I am fairly certain. Mine had the same style of grip and guard, especially how the knucklebow comes into the pommel at such an accute angle. The scabbard is similar, and the blade has the same nebulous kinda spear point ending, whereas the Windlass has a much more defined point. Here are more pics of the blade. Again, I have no firsthand experience with Deepeeka, so the numbers and images may do a better job depicting what you get from them sbg-sword-forum.forums.net/thread/46525/free-cutlass-style-project-blade

I do have experience with Deepeeka. Their Greco-Roman items are their hallmark pieces. The rest of it is wall trash far as I'm concerned. Own several of their tar babies. David Leydoen markets better stuff from Canada.
Mingloo.com is the main distributor for Deepeeka. Can cruze the Kmart fare there. (sometime the prices aren't bad) If nobody else has what you want, talk to Mingloo.
(Addedum: Yeah, David Ledoyen is proprietor of The Royal Sword. By the way his non french items come thru G Godwin or from the USSI proprietor directly. They are Indian from a nonspecified forge. )

Those are nice looking blades at the Royal Sword! Anyone know who makes them and if they're real, functional swords? That last American small sword looks like something that needs to be in my house!

I recently bought the American smallsword hanger from At The Royal and I love it. It has a flat hanger blade and not a triangular style smallsword blade. The POB is a bit too far out in my opinion, but it's a beautiful sword nonetheless.

Thanks for the info. Is it a wall hanger or functional sword?
