Left to Right:
Leuterit - Windlass Tinker 9th Century - Hanwei Oslo - Darksword Armory Suontaka - Windlass Damascus - Windlass Ulfberht - Windlass
Out of all of these my favorite is the Damascus, probably one of the most expensive Windlass swords. It fits me very well and seems well balanced in my hand. The Ulfberht is very nice, too, even though it's inexpensive. It has a great blade and a comfortable grip whether hammer or handshake. Both of these have nice hardware and the ones I received are straight and put together very well. The Suontaka is pretty but not of the quality of some other makers hardware, but the blade again is very good and the scabbard looks cool. The Oslo is nice but a little more blade heavy. I have one hell of a DSA story I need to post, not a pleasant buying experience. The Tinker is a beast but the pommel will really dig into you with its sharp corners. The Leuterit is the most blade heavy and the hardware is cheap. The blade itself is very nice and I'm sure in the right hands it would be fantastic in battle. Luckily I got it dirt cheap. For the most part I really think that Windlass puts out some good swords for the price. All of mine have straight, very well forged blades with good flexibility. I've sharpened them all myself and they are fun to cut with. Now I'm eyeing a migration era Del Tin Lombard which would be my most expensive so far but it's so beautiful.

Nice collection. Would that be one of Cold Steel's Winged Spears in the corner?

Nice collection. Would that be one of Cold Steel's Winged Spears in the corner? Yes it is the Man at Arms version but with the bluing stripped away and then polished.

It looks great, especially against the dark wood of the haft. What are your thoughts on it? I honestly haven't seen too much on that particular model, which is a shame, because I think it's one of the more attractive budget spears on the market.

I honestly haven't seen too much on that particular model, which is a shame, because I think it's one of the more attractive budget spears on the market. It's not exactly historically accurate but it's close to some finds. It's very heavy and well made but was much too dark with the dark haft and I think it looks much better now. It has a thick spine that runs down the blade and would be extremely hard to break or bend. It also attaches to the haft with a complete circular opening instead of some of their spears that attach like a garden implement. For a budget spear it works for me. I also scrapped the screws they use to attach it and used a nail and peened it to the haft.
