Yeah it's nice but the shipping is stupidly expensive. It's not worth spending $85 for a $15 knife

$68usa shipping is a shock. I checked my Ebay "Purchase History" and the quoted shipping was $2.66usa. $15.88 for the knife and $2.66 for shipping to me in California. If $68usa, I would want to return the two I ordered (one received). I had done an Ebay search for "D2 folding knife" and sorted from lowest cost+shipping (total cost) to high. If shipping that high, I will request return. I sent a message to the seller to ask what they charged me for shipping. I'll post when I have more information on this. RinC

That's a lot more reasonable. Do the scales have liners?

Hi Adrian, Looking at the one that arrived couple days ago...knife blade is the meat between two flat slabs of some grey heavy metal of about 2 1/2 mm. Knife handle slabs secured at two points, top and bottom. Clip at bottom of spring steel (looking at it here). I can see blade bearings that looks like circles with tiny ball bearings that make the open/close very low friction..low effort. A lot of quality showing. Looks of precision make...CNC? Liner lock...secure...no blade wobble...no up/down play. No side2side play. Russian design...must be a copy...but a good copy it is. This design is simple...but seems very solid and well made. Robert

If I understand your question, I do not see liners inside the handle slabs. Robert

Robert That's cool. The description says that the scales are G10, and looked a bit thin. If they are metal, then liners are a moot point.

it looks like a fine blade shape, but I just don't trust the steel type, since there are so many similar (same?) knives listed as 9Cc13MoV, 8Cr13MoV, D2, and other types. Hope yours live up to your expectations.

Beats me what G10 scales are...I mean what kind of metal it is....looks sorta titanium, but I don't know metals enough to say is or isn't. Seller says D2...I myself will have to assume blade is...I do not know any home tests for steel type. RinC

Assuming free or $3 or under shipping, for $16, this knife is excellent. Mine looks CNC.

Sorry can't put my trust in a cheap knife seen too many of them fail, like my fingers where they are. The chinese knives will say whatever steel to just get them to sale. D2 steel isn't cheap and takes a good processing to heat treat it right.

Quite so. If cost was no problem, I would get a Medford knife....but alas, my hobby budget is low and my wife is correct that I already have more knives than I need. But I saw this knife and it looked to be a good knife for low cost and low shipping. So I figured it was worth a gamble and I am pleasantly surprised at the quality of it. Next I need to use it and see how it performs and holds up.
Sadly, with limited budgets if I want another knife, it needs be low priced. So I watch for quality without high prices. True a gamble, but this knife seems like a winner.
On shipping costs, with relations unfortunately getting not so good between China and USA Government officials, there is danger of retaliation in limiting trade. One way is by imposing high shipping costs.
