Most of us are aware that the d-guard of the Cold Steel cutlass machete is steel-lined. Here's a picture of mine with the plastic cut away from the guard, for anyone wanting to know just how robust that guard is. It's much narrower without the plastic around it. My next step will be to make a more complete guard out of mild 1/8" steel and weld it to the exposed steel guard. I'll make a thread for that in the customization forum. Attachments:

Same here. I wasn't expecting it to be quite so thick... And I actually have one. However, I'm really interested in seeing how your project turns out, as I've considered doing something similar when I can get the tools to do so.

What do you mean complete guard, if you are talking about a cup guard 1/8in thick to way to thick.
