I have a friend whose family owns a boat company named Regal- They are loaded, sell some of the best boats in the bussiness.
And Regal Blades sounds real nice... It might help give you another image as well. Gen2 heralds to more thick, beater swords. A name like Regal will help you appeal to the higher class myarmoury types.

I like the Regal Arms / Blades idea. I don't think anything with "Generation" in it is the way to go. Sounds at least strange to me ( to not say worse things ).

Would Imperial Weapons create some sort of conflict of interest or tax issue with your retail site? Or is there more to it than that? If you are affiliated in partnership with a parent company in the general production efforts, I guess it could be.
Cheers
Hotspur; keep it simple, whichever way it goes

You're friends family OWNS Regal Boats? They're nice cruisers. I'm not too fond of them, as they seriously lack speed, comfort and fishability. But credit where it's due, they're nice. Clyde, Regal Arms sounds great. I really dig it. But I don't see how a name change will benefit you in the short run (only in the really long run). It will sort of end everything you've worked hard for with the Gen2 name, in my opinion. If it's necessary, do it with class (I know you will). But the Gen2 name has garnered a lot of respect and fans. A name isnt as important as the product, obviously, but it does carry a great deal of heft.

Alpha-Omega arms Solid arms Fortress arms Citadel armouries Generation 2 (Version 2.0) ---- Good luck my friend. Pray about this, it will come. I like Citadel Armouries. What about Citadel Steel? Sounds really tough, sturdy, and reliable, with a hint fo classyness-which is what gen 2 swords seem like they would be to me.

Unfortunately, there is already a sword company calling itself Citadel. They're kind of hard to find, but they're really expensive katana that I, personally, can't see spending that kind of money on. Here's a random example: www.shadowofleaves.com/katana_1.htmThe fittings look quite good, but something about their blades just puts me off.

You should go with a more modern name that reaches out to the younger generation. It is for this reason that I recommend the following name:
"Shiznit Swords"
J/K - But I thought I would throw in some..
Integrity Edge - Battle ready swords for the true swordsman
Vision Arms - The future of battle ready swords
Battle Blades - Real swords for real swordsmen
Keen Edge (or The Keen Edge) - Swords without compromise
Swordsmith Arms - Incredible swords for incredible prices

Wow, allot of great names and many I have gone over and looked closely at, epically Regal Arms, Regalia Arms, Keen Edge, etc.
But nothing sticks (like Albion, Valiant, Del Tin etc.) all great names and set apart. I know Del Tin is his last name, but Hollis Arms or Hollis Armoury just does not sound, well you know...
I had a gentleman at the Faire who has not been in the forum, but has looked closely at SBG talk to me and I pointed him to the forum and told him what Gen 2 is looking at and he suggested Valhalla Arms or Armoury, I liked it, but just did not sit well.
So, how about a little contest who ever comes up with the best name, and one that we choose will receive and Gen 2 prize. I know we all like contest and to get something free, and it will a value up to $250.00 you choose. One item or to but the value combined no more than $250.00.
If this sounds good, can we start today?
We would like it to sound great, add value (since we are going in the direction of strong swords, historical, doing the Reinhardt Collection, etc. and it can be a word in another translation, but please give us the translation.

Good work Clyde. I would have proud to have chosen the name for free, but now you won't stop me. If you do go for Regal I'll claim credit for that. It looks like you want a one word brand like Albion, Hanwei, Windlass. Here's a few more for consideration. Regarding Translation, I wouldn't go for anything latin, italian, or german etc, - unless you want to pigeon hole yourself as a European style sword specialist. I reckon you may want to create some Kukhra, Katana, Dao etc. Being that you are proudly American, and much of your market is too, how about something Patriotic, like Liberty Arms, or Liberation. Also along American Patriotic lines are: Avanyu, (I think is a beautiful and distinctive word) In Native American Mythology : 'the feathered skysnake. Frequently found in Tewa, Keres and Zuni pottery and in some jewelry. He is the storm bringer, the changer of seasons. Connected with lightning, thunderstorms and violent, sudden change.' Bison / Buffalo Armoury (not arms, bufalo don't have arms. ;D) These are animals Native to Tennessee. As are you and your baby. What better than to identify your baby with your home state. Also these are STRONG beasts. Then theres some more that are more pertinent to European Culture, as those are the primary focus of your swords: Kingdom Armoury, or, even STRONGER is EMPIRE! Empire has alot of historical connotations. Empires were won and lost by the sword. Empiric Arms! It gives the feeling of being stronger and richer than all that come before you. Especially with the new Henry V and Excalibur, you are reproducing arms of the greatest Champions. Champions also leads to: Supreme Arms Dominion Supremacy Pinnacle ArmsHow about Simply - Vanquish. Coz thats what G2 products will do to your foes! Victorious or Triumphant Arms; Especially triumphant has a ceremonial feel, after the battle is won. I've also thought about Deliverance, and Salvation. You know the sword is used to deliver the meek from supression.

Immortal Arms - Quality to outlast History. Yup, or Ambrosia Arms, the greek wine of the gods which was said to have imparted long immortality to those who drank of it.

Herald of Arms: "History Lives!" Wikipedia: a herald of arms, is an officer of arms, ranking between pursuivant and king of arms. Heralds were originally messengers sent by monarchs or noblemen to convey messages or proclamations.

At first I was trying to think words that conjure images of the Middle Ages: Magna Carta Arms/Armoury Canterbury Arms/Armoury Then I tried thinking of names that evoke strength. To me, castles symbolize medieval power and strength: Iron Gate Armoury Barbican Arms/Armoury Bastion Arms/Armoury Rampart Arms/Armoury I personally like Bastion.
