Although Vikings did make single edge swords they were not the norm and keep in mind the Vikings were world traders and probably brought swords back home with them. Just because a sword is found in Norway doesn't mean it was made in Norway. If the pommel and guard were still on the sword it would have helped. But it could be one of these.

Single edged viking swords are thought to be norwegian domestic design. But of course, this particular sword could have came from somewhere else.
