This is not mine, but was wondering if someone could translate the mei on this "nihonto"... something just seems "off" to me Well, the picture is not exactly very sharp (and it would need to be aligned differently), but from what I could read I would say those are the characters (except for the first one, of which I am not sure it even is one, cant tell bc of the picture quality): from top to bottom: 國 kuni / guo country 任 nin / ren duty/dignity/(humanity) 人 jin / ren human/person 山 yama/san / shan mountain 心 kokoro / xin heart 土 tsuchi/to tu soil/earth
now, there might be one character missing at the top, and with how worn it is I find it difficult to tell which characters are indepent and which are 'radical's (i.e. part of a character). maybe if you can get us a better quality picture with better lighting and I might be able to tell you more, with more confidence;)

My guess would be 肥前國住人忠吉 - Hizen kuni jūnin Tadayoshi. You can't really see Hizen in the pic but it's the one that makes sense to me.

Have to agree, at closer inspection the 忠 becomes discernible (which makes more sense than yama), and 吉 is a good guess indeed, can't really see that 口 though. Translation: Tadayoshi, Resident/Citizen of Hizen Province (Nagasaki/Saga)
