You know you want one Bigpete, so to can stick yourself with all the points one them. Get hung up on brush by the same points. Also have accidentical discharges with the trigger bar (yes I know the old ones had these triggers bars).

Well unfortunately visiting the Talisman site only the home page seems to work, none of the buttons seem functional each leading to a 404 error page.
I would have liked to get some more info on these, like how much they weigh. Being metal I suspect they are likely a bit hefty, even if mostly aluminum. Also curious to their pricing. Are they priced reasonable, or so outrageously priced that only the most wealthy of steampunk archers can afford them?
While these might be "functional", more likely one would use them more as display pieces than to go hunting with. Or as part of some sort of costume.

I like the crossbows, but the scope has to go! It should be a brass Malcolm style scope or just irons.

actually the long sticky outty things on a competition bow do serve a purpose, they're not there to try and make the bow look better. I don't like em myself, all this stuff detracts from a bows natural purpose which is to kill game and maybe enemy french knights :)

always maintained if you cant shoot open sights and without stabilizers etc you cant shoot, hell half the bows at the Olympic level only have the shooter there to do the draw they practically shoot themselves, that being said i do like the aesthetics of the steam punk universe, and find these bows as functional sculpture pieces really cool, think someone put a lot of time and engineering into them and i can appreciate that

The only place the steampunk bow shows up on this site is in the about page. Given that the steampunk bows are not shown for sale, or even featured in the gallery i would guess they were never production. Just one offs to generate interest in the company while he worked on his commercial product. With his one style that is being sold going for £1,499.99 I would imagine if you tried to get him to make you the steampunk ones, it would cost $2K-$3K or more considering it would be a lot of hand work rather than a production piece. Kinda too bad he didn't decide to market those steampunk bows, while he might not have gotten a sale for them regularly, I imagine he still would have sold plenty. Just as a nifty show piece they are pretty awesome.

FYI the Mantis seems to have had a earlier more steampunk version. And something interesting. It can transform from regular crossbow to a vertical crossbow! crossbowchannel.com/News/News_Talisman%20Mantis.htmNot sure if the production version does this too. I didn't see any mention of it in the specs or pictures of this transformation in the gallery. Looks like the maker ditched this feature along with the steampunk designs. Again sort of sad he comes out with interesting stuff, then doesn't actually bring it to market.

So I should go back to using only iron sights in long range rifle shooting.
