Thanks The nagasa is 24" on this model. I believe it was a custom ordered piece. I prepped the saya by sanding it down, removing all of the irregularities I could and then cut away the material around the koiguchi with chisels, knives and files. The wood was also sealed after sanding and pre-treated for oil based stain.
