This was just moved to last chance on the MRL website. Marked down to $130. I thought I'd share this, as it appears to be a nice sword.

Yea I wonder how these spring up like they do? This sword specifically has been discontinued for at least over a year maybe two. Do they just find them lying around? 3rd parties return them?

Could be old inventory that's been found in a warehouse somewhere, but don't forget that windlass makes discontinued models to order for a number of sellers. Maybe someone cancelled their order?

Does anyone know if this is a decent sword? Can't find much about it.

I heard good things about it on the old forum. It's unique as it's the only Type XXa single hander I've seen on the market. It has a similar construction to the sword of Roven and weight and balance seem good for the type. I'd say go for it if you like it, if anything you'll have a nice discontinued sword and a unique blade type plus for the price you can't beat it for a quality one hander.

It is a decent sword with good proportions and weight distribution - the main concern I've heard (and felt) are the metal studs on the handle... they can be (and are) uncomfortable, but can be easily removed if you wish to do so, but will leave tiny holes in the leather where they were attached. I've seen people take the studs and the leather off and redo the grip - shouldn't be too big of a project.
