Hey everyone, new aussie to the board Glad I washed up here on what looks like a great, friendly forum. I've been a bayonet collector for a long time (also a sporting shooter both pistol & rifle, no simple task in this country!) but have recently caught the virus which is the fascination with long blades. I'm waiting with a ridiculous amount of impatience for my first to be delivered (a Brit Pattern 1821 artillery), and with luck a couple more in the slow-moving international postal pipeline after that. Looking forward to learning and contributing where I can

G'day Rob! Cheers mate, good of you to offer, its appreciated. Yeah sorry re the bayonets, had a brief computer issue there heh Be warned...I have a few P1907 Wilikinson Aussie LiA1/SLR Enfield No.4 Got this for my rifle (like all my guns to have the correct bayonets, where possible) and just after ordering realised it has a postwar target barrel, and no lugs. Lol /facepalm SKS, unfortunately not likely to get my hands on one heh Same with the AKs...Yuogoslav East German Mosin Nagant 91/30 pigsticker, a cruciform design Yugoslav Mauser, which fits on a repro K98 .22 trainer...kinda funny Swedish Mauser with frog AFH M1 Garand And more swords...P1856 Enfield Yataghan style Swiss K31 sawback, AKA the beast lol So far, I think that's it

Thanks aussie...definitely fell into the right place, I think! The 96's are generally in good shape, like the Swiss bayonets they saw little use at the uh, 'pointy end' of things heh (no offence meant to any resident Swedes/Swiss here ) Do you have the Swede to go with it? I managed to pick up both the long Carl Gustav and carbine versions - not for nothing are they sought after for Service rifle, very nice guns.

Sadly, while I did have a collection of 23 rifles and a bunch of handguns since I was young, now I no longer have a single bang-stick, my ex had my firearms permit held up while a custody dispute was in progress and I have not sought to get it back. 45 years as an amateur gunsmith, professional fox hunter, target shooter, etc. Them's the breaks

That must have been a wrench, I feel for ya...and 23, damn you did better than I've managed lol Don't those laws suck - and prosecuted under the flimsiest of pretences too. All in the guise of "protecting the community" jesus that phrase has gotten old and no mistake heh Still, I guess you can quench your thirst on bladed weapons now
