The day happiness went away - and returned triumphant
September 11, 2001
Men and women dressed in heavy coats, helmets and boots,
Fluorescent stripes, masks, axes, they came…
Dressed in blue, asked to help, they came…
Driving white ambulances, giving aid and comfort, they came…
Asked to save those they knew not, they came...
Died for those who could not help themselves, still they came.
*************************************************************************************
The building’s on fire, they should leave
No, they need to stay where they are
No! We need to get these people out!
They need to leave!
Get out! I don’t care, we’ve got civilians moving back
The walls are breached – so be careful
…you got injured people here on 70…
We got two isolated pockets of fire… we should be able to knock it down with two lines…
78th floor numerous 10-45 Code Ones
*************************************************************************************
The building’s down, we should leave… think THINK! Get out NOW!
Dust, heavy cloud… must help, God help…
Dust boiling all around… must get to them… save them!
Breathe, breathe! In out in out. No! In and out! Get that stuff out! Breathe!
*************************************************************************************
Oh my God, can’t… breathe…
… why… aren’t… they… here… they should… be… here… by now…
aja! CAUJA! aja aja aja… air…need airneedairneedairairneedairneedair
Water, my God, water!
*************************************************************************************
Is the building down? I can’t see it
It’s just all the smoke, it’s so thick, that’s why you can’t see it
No! It’s down! It’s down!
*************************************************************************************
We need to go to war now!
Kill them! Kill them all!
We need to go over and get Osama bin Laden… hunt them down like the animals they are.
These animals, they don’t deserve to live on this Earth… they should eliminate them, pulverize the mothers!
*************************************************************************************
The second building! Oh my god! Go to the other room, go lie down!
O my god ohmygodohmygodohmygod…
************************************************************************************
I saw it blow, and then ran like Hell… I’m 69, but I can still run… there’s gotta be fire back in the track back
There though
*************************************************************************************
Crunched cars, desolate, dusty
Fluorescent stripes walking around
Twisted metal, paper, plastic - Hell on Earth
The skies above
Where there were two, now there is none
No more blue, only grey brown crud
*************************************************************************************
Wasn’t it just yesterday? And yet,
Years slip by in an instant –
Where once Desperation and Gloom reigned supreme,
Now
Admiration and Humility arise…
Those who fell, and those selfless in their deeds
Will always be remembered,
Forever ingrained in our hearts and souls.
