Sweeeet! Can't wait to see it finished. Thinking about a handle shape similar to the previous shorter version?
Oh, one thing I've wondered about: in their early stages your tangs always have indentations along the edges. Just wondering why that is.

It's going to have the same handle shape.
The indentations are to get the steel to move easier during the drawing out of the tang. I just use a sicossor tool to do it instead of using the edge of the anvil. Learn this form some other bladesmiths. I only use about 3in of steel on a 1 3/4in wide piece of steel to get a 12in long tang.
I've made a real nice pommel for this one too.

I have 4 pommels I've make myself, I'll try to get some pictures of them under. Mostly just simple designs.

Sweet! Nice job Driggers. I like the pommel and the transition from wood grip to the pommel.

Wow! This is really a unique piece. Great job Driggers.
What is the weight and POB on this bad boy?

A little heavy really 3lbs 3oz, but this is a langsax style blade and 1/4in thick with some distal taper. A very stiff blade. POB is 5in form the guard. In the hand it doesn't really feel very heavy handles has well than my katanas it not blade heavy.
The wife did a great job on the handle.
Yes I'm happy with the way the pommel turned out. Just used a drill press, bandsaw and belt sander to make it myself.
