Seeing alot of blowouts for Kaneie. Is Kaneie really going under and forever?
It seems like such a reputable brand great looking swords.

No, they still exist - but will be much harder to get as Cas Iberia basically had a major disagreement with them and decided to flush out all the stock at discount..
Apparently the owner of Kaneie is not the easiest person in the world to deal with..
So long story short, they still exist - but won't be easy to get as they were when CAS was stocking them.. (

Sorry if I'm thread jacking here; but I figure you would know Paul. What happened to Oni Forge? I've searched around Google, and they just sort of disappeared.

Happens with talented people.....I knew a guy, talented machinist with slightly above abysmal people skills. Made great products. But personality was thin skilled (nice way of saying the dude was a jerk).

Oni Forge changed its name to Kensei, but they've been out of business since 2012 or '13. I bought a katana from Loren Graves in 2012, and remember that their website went offline not too long after I received it. I don't know the story behind it though. Out of curiosity, did Kaneie used to be Red Dragonfly Sword Art? I was interested in RDS, then got out of swords for a while, and when I came back RDS had disappeared. Kaneie's products remind me a lot of RDS, same type of construction/fittings.

RDS was a distributor for Kaneie....they had a great selection and prices, I got my first Kaneie blade from them, $8-900 for the same hadori blades CAS was selling for $1200+...

But they only discounted the cheaper ones...
Also Id buy the black tiger katana if they had it for sale.

And they had the Mountain Spider as well as one other.
