Reading this...I'm thinking once you replace your knife, find something else to throw...rock, stick, lead, small church, a duck, etc...

Opinel knives are good, not expensive either.

It actually was the tree that broke the knife. The second it hit the tree, the blade bent. The blade was too thin, and the heat treat was nonexistent. After seeing all of these cool pocket knives, I've decided on 3. The sanrenmu f1-723, the CS Finn wolf, and the Ontario rat folder model 1. Thanks for all the help. If I have time, I may write a comparative review.

About any Kershaw folder of price of about $25usa and up is good. Kershaw, I find, does a very good heat treatment of their blades and overall q.c. / fit&finish is excellent.

I've tried using the broken knife as a boomerang. It doesn't come back... XD

I've tried using the broken knife as a boomerang. It doesn't come back... XD So it works like a weapon boomerang rather than a toy boomerang. Yay!

I love telling people we need tighter controls on boomerangs and yo-yos because "children shouldn't be able to buy weapons" and the like. So many baffled expressions...

My sanrenmu f1723 arrived today! First impressions: It's smaller than I thought. It's a heavy knife for its size. It's sharper than a razor.
I actually quickly got over the weight, as it wasn't that heavy, but I still can't believe how sharp it is. I cut newspapers and printer papers to shreds just by touching it with the knife blade. It sits low in the pocket and is easily concealed, yet easily accessible. I love this knife! It's a keeper.

That one looks like it has an 8c13mov blade. This is the same steel used on most of Kershaw's China factory blades. I like it. Gets dull quicker than some of the pricier steels, but it's a breeze to put a very fine edge back on. Keep it clean/dry, though. It will start to rust if not taken care of.
