Evening fellas. Been on an Ebay kick lately and have purchased several items. Some French Chassepot bayonets, a Gras bayonet and an 1891 Argentine bayonet. Glad to have them in my collection, but does anyone have any idea what type of steel these were typically made from? All well made and in pretty good condition considering their ages.

I am not sure. The argentine one is always cute - what is the handle of yours made of?

Silver metal alloy, I like it quite a lot.

I think it's some form of aluminum. Some variants had brass. Both were cool :p
